Bringing the Light of Chanukah to Cyprus!

The Jewish community in Cyprus is gearing up to share the miracle of Chanukah across the island. We will be hosting wonderful Chanukah events that are open to everyone, offering a range of engaging activities and celebrations

This includes the placement of 9 menorahs, each ranging from 2 to 4 meters high, at various significant points in every city across the island, including the airports. Greeting booths with candles will be set up for all flights arriving from Israel, along with providing menorah and candle kits for each Jewish Community member on the island.

There will be workshops and educational activities designed for children of all ages, as well as lectures and study evenings tailored for adults. The annual Chanukah celebrations will take place in Larnaca, Nicosia, Limassol, Paphos, and Ayia Napa.

Efforts will include the koshering of a donut factory, enabling the distribution of 3000 donuts throughout the community. Outreach visits to Jewish businesses across the island will also be conducted.

Another unique initiative is the Menoramobiles – a caravan of 8 cars traveling across the island every night of Chanukah, each with specialized menorahs on the roofs, spreading the light far and wide.
